Events

The VVA Chapter 218 participates throughout the year in honoring all Veterans at various patriotic ceremonies. The Annual Old Spanish Days celebration in Santa Barbara and through it's outreach and sustaining scholarship programs.

In addition to annual events, Chapter 218 is involved in special projects such as "The Moving Wall" and the Terrace of Remembrance at Elings Park.

We invite all Veterans to join us in our support and recognition of our past and current military personnel!


Old Spanish Days Santa Barbara (Viva La Fiesta!)

The Chapter staffs and sponsors a food booth annually in De La Guerra Plaza. Contact Don Matter if you are interested in participating!

 

Veteran's Day Parade

Every year, the Pierre Claeyssens Veterans' Museum and Library sponsors and organizes the Veterans' Day Parade in Santa Barbara which begins on State Street and ends up in front of the Veterans Memorial Building on Cabrillo Boulevard. This is a timeless tradition which honors veterans of all branches of the military in the Santa Barbara area. If you would like to participate in the Veterans Day parade, please click here.

 

Memorial Day Services

Chapter members are in attendance at the three ceremonies in Santa Barbara County on May 30th. The Santa Barbara service begins at 9 am at the Santa Barbara Cemetery; the Carpinteria service begins at 10 at the Carpinteria Valley Cemetery and the Goleta service begins at 11 am at the Goleta Valley Cemetery.
