Message From The President
All members are reminded not to pay Chapter expenses expecting reimbursement from the Chapter. This creates a problem. We do not want to have to explain why we are writing checks to Chapter members. I myself am taking this advice to heart. I usually buy the stamps for the newsletter and then have the Chapter treasurer reimburse me. From now on I will be getting a check, payable to the U. S. Post Office, in advance.
Thanks to those who participated in the Veterans Day Parade including but not limited to Bill Stewart, Jim Cerda, Charlie and Cathy Franco, Jack Silveria, John Parsons, Jerry Roberson, Joe Crockett, Don Matter, Keith Perkins, George Ogle, Madeline Moreaux, Woody Wilde, The Helicopter, General Frederick Lopez, and a sports jacketed vet who joined us along the parade route.
This month’s meeting is our annual Awards Banquet. We’ll meet at Harry’s Plaza Café beginning at 6:00 P. M. The buffet items will be Fresh Vegetables, Mashed Potatoes, Chicken Picatta, Tri-tip Roast, and Sole Almondine. Optional, unlimited refill non-alcoholic drinks and dessert (Chocolate or original cheesecake or a mini-sundae). Alcoholic drinks will be no-host, cash and carry.

We had 15 attendees for our November meeting including guests Joan Davis, Madeline Moreaux, Lisa Morgan, and new lifetime member Darrell Skare.
Welcome member Joseph Narkevitz to our masthead as Chapter Veterans Affairs coordinator. We continue to research shelter options for the helicopter and the ramifications of adopting the semi-trailer from the National Guard. Gerry Roberson is also researching warmers for the Fiesta booth. Annual Veterans Luncheon will be held at the Veterans Memorial Building on Friday, December 15. If you are able to help, contact Marge Beavers (568-0020).
If you have earned your 5 year, 10 year, 20 year or Life Member pin, please let me know (682-0550) promptly. Our Annual Awards Banquet is a highlight of our events each year and I look forward to seeing as many of you as can make it. Please try to attend. Thanks.
Proudly representing and serving noble warriors with noble intentions,
Keith
The Chapter meets the second Tuesday of every month at the Veterans Memorial Building at 112 W. Cabrillo Boulevard at 6:15 P. M. The meetings usually last around an hour. Several members usually go out for an informal dinner at Moby Dick’s Restaurant (or elsewhere) on the nearby wharf after the meeting.

The Santa Barbara Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America is a tax exempt, non-profit organization. Our members are Vietnam era (you need not have served "in country") Veterans and Associates (individuals from all walks of life who may or may not have served in the military). Our Chapter is successful because of the efforts of Vietnam Veterans, Vietnam Era Veterans, and Associates, all of whom are equally welcomed and prized. The Chapter’s Vance Committee distributes funds to qualified disabled American veterans.
