Message From The President

ALERT! Please join us for Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 11. Parade steps off at 1:30 P. M. from in front of Memorial Building, preceded by complimentary lunch at Memorial Building at around Noon, which itself will be preceded by ceremony at 11:00 A. M. at which member Brigadier General Frederick Lopez will be speaking.

In addition to the above, local Veterans Day ceremonies will include a Korean War Veterans service at Santa Barbara Cemetery at 9:00 A. M., which will be followed by coffee and donuts at the Memorial Building.

We had a nice sized group of about 25 for our October meeting to hear guest speaker Dr. Ed Ryan who spoke on PTSD. In deference to Dr. Ryan, much of the Chapter’s business matters were deferred to our November meeting at which I hope to see you.

The following inquiry was posted on the Chapter message board. If you have an interest, please contact Barry directly.
Hi- I teach fifth grade here in SB. We would like to know if a veteran would be willing to come and speak to our students about the military, serving in combat, etc. Please contact me at docc86@cox.net

Thank you, Barry Nitikman

Proudly representing and serving noble warriors with noble intentions,
Keith

The Chapter meets the second Tuesday of every month at the Veterans Memorial Building at 112 W. Cabrillo Boulevard at 6:15 P. M. The meetings usually last around an hour. The Santa Barbara Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America is a tax exempt, non-profit organization. Our members are Vietnam era (you need not have served "in country") Veterans and Associates (individuals from all walks of life who may or may not have served in the military). Our Chapter is successful because of the efforts of Vietnam Veterans, Vietnam Era Veterans, and Associates, all of whom are equally welcomed and prized. The Chapter’s Vance Committee distributes funds to qualified disabled American veterans.
