Message From The President

We welcomed in the new year with a relatively short meeting. Helicopter cover remains a work in progress. Bill Frieburg reported that the motorcycle run for Toys for Tots raised $37,000 which was donated to the Unity Shoppe. He also wished to remind everyone that Rolling Thunder will again be going to Washington, D. C. over Memorial Day weekend.

Joseph Narkovitz was a surprise attendee (between other commitments) and informed us of a former chapter member currently living in Texas who suffered an injury in a fall from a horse, resulting in paralysis. The Vet Center has received a donation of a mechanized wheelchair and is trying to arrange transport of the chair to Texas. Jerry Roberson volunteered to deliver (for expenses only) the chair or to research shipping methods in case the high cost of fuel makes the latter more efficient. This appears to be a Vance item.

And back to the helicopter, rumor has it that the City will be taking over the property upon which our helicopter is parked. Tom Palmeri’s son recently announced that he had enlisted in the Marines. Charter member Craig Taylor is working on a “retrospective” of the Chapter’s early years. Bill Stewart is going on his second tour in Louisiana for Katrina Relief.

Look forward to seeing you at our next meeting on Tuesday, February 13, at 6:15 P. M. at the Veterans Memorial Building. We’ll be accepting nominations for officers and board of directors for the coming year. The election will be held during our March meeting.

Proudly representing and serving noble warriors with noble intentions,
Keith
